May 30th Memorial Day is observed at Lakeview Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. with social distancing (6 feet apart) Saturday and masks required. No refreshments or program will be held at the Community Building. May 29th Michigamme Museum is open daily through Labor Day, Noon to 5:00 p.m. This may be changed through if restrictions are still in place after May 28th. There is no admission fee to visit, donations are Sept 7th welcomed, memorials, merchandise, and 2020 calendars are available. Museum phone # 906-323-9016 June 1 – Campground is open daily. $10 per night, $20 refundable deposit. Portable toilets available. Rustic, Sept 30 no amenities. Forms are available on website and office. Place in drop box when not open. June 17-20 Dumpster Days: You may be asked to provide proof of property ownership (recent tax statement). AND Dumpsters will be available on the dates and times: Aug. 19-22 Wednesday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to Noon The July 4th Committee has recommended that the Independence Day activities be cancelled this year. The Township Board supports this difficult decision. We hope you enjoy celebrating with your family this summer. Thank you for your continued support for future Independence Day celebrations. The Township will be celebrating their sesquicentennial in the year 2022. We are looking for volunteers to help us with the plans! Put on your creative caps! July 25th LMPO Annual Meeting and Picnic 10:00 a.m. in the Community Building Gym. July 26th Superior String Alliance Concert in the Community Building Gym @ 4:30 p.m. Aug. 29th Community Pig Roast fundraiser for the 4th of July fireworks 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Park. Also available at the Township office, Museum and Crock & Rocker Sept. 12th Artisans Market at the Michigamme Township Park 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. RAIN or SHINE! Vendors selling hand crafted, home harvested, and home cooked items will be available (no resale, retail, or rummage sale items). Concessions will be available.
