According to the FBI, Property and Mortgage Fraud is the fastest growing white-collar crime. It can be as simple as someone recoding a fraudulent document in the County Land Records offices making it look like they now own your home and property.

ALERT: Please be on the lookout for companies offering to help residents acquire a certified copy of their deed. These companies charge fees of $50 or more. Copies of all land records can be purchased from your ROD office for as little as $1 per page .. If you're contacted by an outside company, it's advised to check with the Marquette County ROD office before buying.
